Save Arizona's Minimum Wage! -- Salvar al Salario Minimo en Arizona!

At the end of February, the Commerce Committee of the Arizona House of Representatives approved a bill that would steal money from the paychecks of Arizona's lowest paid employees. The bill cuts the minimum wage by $3 for teenagers and $2 for tipped employees. greed.jpgTell the bill's sponsor, Rep. Steve Court, to stop giving breaks to the 1% at the expense of Arizona's working families!

Rep. Court,

We call on you to stop doing the bidding of Arizona's 1% by cutting the minimum wage by $3 for teenagers and $2 tipped employees. This is a special interest payoff at the expense of our state's working families. We demand you pull the bill or let it die.

A higher minumum wage has been proven to create jobs. Tips vary and in hard economic times, are not as high as even 15%. Don’t do this. Please!

Cutting minimum wages is a boondoggle and a waste of taxpayers’ time and money.

Don’t tell our teens they are not valued or that work isn’t worth the effort it takes. In today’s economy the customers are not tipping the way they could if they were more prosperous themselves so employees who rely on tips already are hurting economically and should not be impoverished further.

Rep. Steve Court, stop giving breaks to the 1% at the expense of Arizona’s working families!

If you think you can live on the same wages as Arizona’s lowest paid employees plus tips.. prove it and then we’ll talk!

Are we really trying to starve out our lowest paid workers in this country while the 1% buy their Porsches, thousand dollar dresses, and, as in the case of one of the Waltons, pay $12,000,000 for a painting? The gap between the rich and poor in this country widens more and more. The situation left us by the second Bush, and his masterpiece of getting a new Supreme Court “Justice” ???
