Save Arizona's Minimum Wage! -- Salvar al Salario Minimo en Arizona!

At the end of February, the Commerce Committee of the Arizona House of Representatives approved a bill that would steal money from the paychecks of Arizona's lowest paid employees. The bill cuts the minimum wage by $3 for teenagers and $2 for tipped employees. greed.jpgTell the bill's sponsor, Rep. Steve Court, to stop giving breaks to the 1% at the expense of Arizona's working families!

****

Rep. Court,

We call on you to stop doing the bidding of Arizona's 1% by cutting the minimum wage by $3 for teenagers and $2 tipped employees. This is a special interest payoff at the expense of our state's working families. We demand you pull the bill or let it die.

It’s not “anti-capitalist,” as some HCR 2056 supporters argue, to have a strong minimum wage. I’d argue, in fact, that it’s anti-capitalist not to have a strong minimum wage, since minimum wages give working people a better chance to enjoy the fruits of capitalism.

You Legislators just don’t get it. you put money in the hands of middle class working people so that they can buy things. THAT stimulates the economy.

If the minimum, wage is cut, employers will fire older workers to employ younger voters. What are you thinking?

Raising the minimum wage boosts economies. This is fact. More money circulating means more profits. Simple. Henry Ford knew it. He paid his workers an unheard-of $5.00 per day — so that they could buy the cars they made.

So, do the right thing by Arizona businesses: raise, not lower, the minimum wage.

Has the American labor force not already suffered enough??? Please reconsider this measure so that families can stay solvent and off welfare.
